Take Our Kids to Work Day opens young eyes to trucking and logistics careers

THRC announces new employer resource kit
OTTAWA, ON (September 11, 2025) — Trucking HR Canada (THRC) is making it easier for organizations in our sector to welcome a new generation into trucking and logistics. Visit THRC’s online guide.
Companies can access a full suite of resources to help organize the day and promote participation to their staff.
“Take Our Kids to Work is a unique opportunity to introduce young people to the many job and career options in our essential sector,” says Angela Splinter, CEO, THRC. “There is no better way to encourage connections and inspire future workers than creating ways to explore career possibilities in real-world settings.”
On November 5, 2025, students across Canada will spend the day on the job with a parent, relative, friend, or volunteer experiencing and learning about the world of work in real workplaces. This annual program supports career development by helping students connect school, work, and their own futures.
To make it easier for employers to participate, THRC developed a set of resources, including a sample agenda and planning calendar to help companies prepare a fun, safe, and engaging Take Our Kids to Work experience.
Take Our Kids to Work day, in its 31st year, is a national event that brings together students, families, educators, and employers for a meaningful day of discovery, connection, and inspiration.
