18 Industry leaders join Women’s Leadership Accord to champion welcoming workplaces

Toronto, ON (October 1, 2025) — A special ceremony to welcome 18 organizations into Trucking HR Canada’s Women’s Leadership Accord was held in Toronto today at the THRC Hits the Road networking event.

This brings the total Accord signatories to 49 — all organizations with demonstrated excellence in concrete actions to recruit, retain, and support women, encourage their success, and showcase opportunities in our sector for a fulfilling career.

“Once again, leading organizations are making trucking and logistics a career destination – especially for women who have not traditionally considered careers in our sector compared to other parts of Canada’s economy,” says Angela Splinter, CEO, THRC. “The Accord recognizes and celebrates those organizations’ accomplishments — and also supports others who want to advance their workplace equity objectives with tools and resources they can use right away.”

The organizations that signed on to the Accord and received their Certificate of Excellence today:

  • Brian Kurtz Trucking
  • Cardinal Couriers
  • Challenger Motor Freight
  • Erb Transport Limited
  • Fortigo Freight Services Inc.
  • GS Group
  • Home Hardware Stores Limited
  • J&R Hall Transport Inc.
  • Joseph Haulage Canada Corp.
  • One For Freight
  • Rosedale Transport Limited
  • Seaboard Transport Group
  • Steed Standard Transport Limited
  • Tandet
  • Transpro Freight Systems Ltd.
  • United Van Lines (Canada) Ltd.
  • Wellington Group of Companies
  • Woodcock Transportation Group

Thanks to the efforts already underway from these and other forward-thinking employers, women employed in trucking and logistics increased by 27% between 2016 and 2021 — that’s 26,235 women joining our industry who recognize the opportunities for fulfilling careers in the sector.

Intake for the Women’s Leadership Accord is ongoing. There are two steps to join:

  1. Commit to meet the program’s four pillars of gender equity, inclusivity, safety, and empowerment.

  1. Earn the Certificate of Excellence by demonstrating everything you have in place to take action in the areas of leadership, attraction and recruitment, retention, health and safety, and community engagement.

THRC launched this program earlier this year to spotlight organizations leading the way in creating great workplaces for women and taking concrete action to recruit, retain, and support women, encourage their success, and showcase opportunities in our sector for a fulfilling career.
