Trucking employers face June 1 deadlines; THRC webinars offer fast-track guidance and funding access

OTTAWA, ON (April 7, 2026) — Trucking HR Canada (THRC) is launching a series of industry-tailored webinars this April and May to help trucking and logistics employers build their future talent pipeline and meet fast-approaching federal compliance deadlines.

Full schedule and registration.

The one-hour sessions provide practical, trucking-specific guidance on accessing student wage subsidies and preparing for June 1 reporting requirements under the Legislated Employment Equity Program (LEEP) and the Accessible Canada Act (ACA).

Through the Student Work Placement Program (SWPP), employers can access up to $5,000 per student placement to support their talent pipeline. With more than 50% of summer placements already filled, employers are encouraged to act quickly. SWPP is funded by the Government of Canada.

“These webinars give trucking employers exactly what they need right now — practical tools to build their talent pipeline and clear guidance to meet compliance deadlines,” said Angela Splinter, CEO, Trucking HR Canada. “In under an hour, participants can stay ahead of requirements while strengthening their workforce strategy.”

Webinars include:

  • Student Work Placement Program: Build your talent pipeline (April 22)
  • LEEP reporting made simple (April 29 and May 13)
  • Accessible Canada Act: Prepare your progress report (May 6)
  • Women’s Leadership Accord (May 27 – EN; May 20 -FR)

All sessions are free, delivered live at noon ET, and most are available in English and French.
