OTTAWA, ON (March 3, 2026) — Trucking HR Canada (THRC) has begun rolling out more than 50 new and updated employer resources for 2026, marking the single largest expansion of its HR management library to date.

As a critical backbone of Canada’s economy — responsible for moving the vast majority of the country’s goods — the strength and stability of the trucking and logistics workforce directly impacts national supply chains and economic growth.

Designed exclusively for trucking and logistics employers, THRC’s new and refreshed tools provide practical, ready-to-use solutions to strengthen recruitment and retention, enhance performance management, and help companies navigate complex regulatory requirements with confidence.

“A strong and resilient trucking and logistics sector is essential to Canada’s economy,” says Angela Splinter, CEO, THRC. “Employers must remain compliant in a rapidly changing regulatory environment while also meeting the evolving expectations of today’s workforce. This significant update to our resource library ensures they have practical, industry-specific tools to strengthen their businesses — and the supply chains that depend on them.”

The first phase of the 2026 rollout focuses on attracting the right talent and setting employees up for success from day one.  New and updated resources include:

Recruitment

  • From criteria to contract: A comprehensive approach to attracting talent
  • Building a recruitment rubric (with sample template)
  • Creating strong job postings
  • Interview questions you can — and cannot — ask

Retention

  • Success from the start: A practical onboarding guide
  • 90 Days to success: Developing performance check-ins for new hires
  • Onboarding internal hires: A step-by-step checklist

Performance management and development

  • From reviews to results: A guide to effective performance management
  • Performance appraisals: Best practices and template examples

These tools are particularly valuable for small and mid-sized carriers, where staff often manage multiple roles and require efficient, turnkey HR solutions that save time while strengthening compliance and workplace performance.

Employers can explore the new resources in more detail during THRC’s upcoming March webinar, Unlock workforce performance: New tools for 2026, which will provide a guided tour of the materials and practical implementation insights. Learn more and register today.

Additional announcements are planned throughout 2026, including new AI-enabled tools and e-learning solutions designed to support real-world operations and further strengthen Canada’s trucking and logistics workforce.

The first wave of 2026 resources is now available in the THRC Learning Centre under HR management.

Employers can explore THRC’s full suite of compliance and training tools, as well as HR Management in the Learning Centre.

This project is funded in part by the Government of Alberta.
