Stand out to top talent and gain insights to strengthen your workplace

OTTAWA, ON (October 5, 2026) — Trucking HR Canada (THRC) is now accepting applications for its 2027 Top Fleet Employers (TFE) program, offering Canadian fleets expert feedback to guide their HR investments and the opportunity to earn national recognition as a leading employer. Applications close January 29, 2027. Find out more and start your application now.

Canadian-based small, medium and large fleets, including private fleets and fleet services organizations, are eligible to apply.

“Strong HR practices deserve the same attention as any other business investment,” says Angela Splinter, President and CEO, Trucking HR Canada. “They help build the workforce a company needs to compete and grow. “The Top Fleet Employer designation helps fleets show prospective and current employees what sets their workplace apart.”

“THRC’s TFE program elevates our whole sector,” she says. “More and more fleets are seeing that investment in HR excellence provides a significant return to their business in employee retention and overall competitiveness.”

The TFE designation recognizes fleets that meet or exceed established standards for HR policies and practices through a thorough review by expert assessors. It is not a contest: every fleet that meets the criteria can earn recognition.

Every applicant receives a confidential, easy-to-use scorecard identifying HR strengths and opportunities for improvement, whether or not they earn the designation. This actionable reference point helps employers benchmark their practices against sector peers, set priorities and focus their time and resources on improvements that support recruitment and retention.

Only fleets that demonstrate HR excellence through an expert assessment against program standards earn the right to call themselves Top Fleet Employers. The designation sets recognized fleets apart, giving them a credible endorsement to use in job postings, recruitment campaigns and company marketing to attract talent and showcase their commitment to their people.

In 2026, 98 fleets earned TFE recognition. Small and mid-sized fleets make up the majority of Top Fleet Employers, demonstrating that workplace excellence is within reach for organizations of every size.
