Trucking HR Canada launches National Workforce Strategy Council

Ottawa, ON (June 15, 2026) — Trucking HR Canada (THRC) has launched a new National Workforce Strategy Council, bringing together senior leaders from transportation and logistics associations across Canada to provide strategic guidance on workforce initiatives that strengthen the industry’s future. 

The Council will provide insight and sector leadership to support THRC’s workforce-related projects and programs focused on labour market intelligence, skills development, training, and HR supports for employers. 

“Canada’s trucking and logistics workforce is facing a period of unprecedented change — from demographic pressures and evolving skills needs to economic uncertainty and rapid technological transformation,” says Angela Splinter, CEO of Trucking HR Canada. “This Council brings together some of the strongest industry voices in the country to help ensure we are not just reacting to change, but actively shaping the workforce strategies our sector needs to thrive.” 

Founding members of the National Workforce Strategy Council include: 

  • Marc Cadieux, President and CEO, Association du camionnage du Québec (ACQ) 
  • Robert Harper, President, Alberta Motor Transport Association (AMTA) 
  • Chris McKee, Executive Director, Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association (APTA) 
  • Dave Earle, President and CEO, British Columbia Trucking Association (BCTA) 
  • Bruce Rodgers, Executive Director, CIFFA 
  • Pina Melchionna, President and CEO, CITT 
  • Aaron Dolyniuk, Executive Director, Manitoba Trucking Association (MTA) 
  • Mike Millian, President, Private Motor Truck Council of Canada (PMTC) 
  • Susan Ewart, Executive Director, Saskatchewan Trucking Association (STA) 

The National Workforce Strategy Council will meet quarterly and serve in an advisory capacity to support alignment, collaboration, and continuous improvement across THRC workforce initiatives.
