Alliance brings a coordinated, multimodal approach to workforce challenges across Canada’s freight transportation system
CALGARY, AB (August 24, 2026) — A new national alliance uniting Canada’s trucking, air cargo, marine, and rail sectors launched today, creating an unprecedented forum for collaboration on the workforce challenges affecting the country’s transportation and supply chain system.
The Transportation and Supply Chain Workforce Alliance (TASC) will be led by Trucking HR Canada (THRC) in partnership with CIFFA — Canada’s Association of Logistics Providers as partner. The initiative is funded by the Government of Canada through Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC).
“Trucking HR Canada has the national network and proven track record to turn workforce priorities into practical solutions,” said Angela Splinter, President and CEO of THRC. “We have built our reputation by bringing industry together, delivering trusted labour market intelligence, and developing programs that respond to real workforce needs. TASC extends that leadership across all modes — creating a national platform to address shared challenges and deliver coordinated action across Canada’s transportation and supply chain system.”

TASC brings together employers, education and training providers, Indigenous partners, labour and workforce organizations, and other stakeholders to identify shared priorities, validate labour market intelligence, advance practical solutions, and pilot new workforce initiatives.
By connecting expertise across transportation modes and regions, TASC will strengthen workforce planning and help build a more resilient, productive, and future-ready transportation and supply chain system.
